This programme is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the sectors of Information Technology, Multimedia or Games Development. This programme aims to provide students with a grounding in the key disciplines in some of the fast growing industries in Ireland. This course is perfect for anyone who’s not sure which element of IT, Multimedia & Games they would like to study or pursue further.
Career Opportunities & Progression Routes
Throughout this course, students will gain the necessary qualifications and experience to progress into the Advanced Certificate in Software Systems and Networks or the Advanced Certificate in Creative Media, in Ó Fiaich Institute, or alternatively, to progress directly into Higher Education or employment. Graduates may find employment in the following fields; Games Development, Games Design, Games Tester, Software Development or 2D/3D Graphic Design & Animation. With companies such as Romero Games, Frogwares, Havok and Blizzard having facilities in Ireland, job opportunities are available.
This course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational and mature students with an interest in IT, multimedia or games, with suitable candidates being selected by interview.

Fees charged by professional bodies - These will be outlined under Additional fees for applicable courses.
Additional costs which may include: Books, Uniforms, /Clothing and Equipment (e.g. Chefs Knives etc.)
Note 1: A non-refundable deposit of €50 to reserve a place on a PLC course.
Note 2: The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution:
- Full medical Card holders in their own right and their dependent children
- Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
- Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA)
