This course is for people who would like to start a career in Business Management and Administration. Students acquire an understanding of the financial aspects of business administration and the functions of human resources, within a business organisation. The course provides advanced training in the main computer applications used in the workplace, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database. Students learn to organise and manage staff, manage their time more effectively and think independently about business and Management decisions students learn to develop the real-world skills required to effectively manage and organise their team,The course is designed to equip you with the skills and self confidence to effectively manage and adapt to a wide range of competitive and constantly changing business environments.
Career Opportunities & Progression Routes
Successful graduates will have the opportunity to enter into the business areas such as accountancy, marketing, business administration and work in Solicitor’s firms or Legal Aid Agencies, Banks, Insurance Companies, Travel sectors, Health Services and Local Authorities. Students will be prepared for a variety of supervisory positions in the public or private sectors. The received award demonstrates the qualifications and experience which are satisfactory for the progression to the Higher Education, e.g., to the second year of the Bachelor of Business in Management and Administration or Bachelor of Business in Business Information Systems in DkIT.
Students should have completed the QQI level 5 Certificate in eBusiness Office Administration, Information Processing or Tourism or an equivalent qualification.

Additional costs which may include: Books, Uniforms, /Clothing and Equipment (e.g. Chefs Knives etc.)
Note 1: A non-refundable deposit of €50 to reserve a place on a PLC course.
Note 2: The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution:
- Full medical Card holders in their own right and their dependent children
- Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
- Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA)
