Course Aim

This course is designed to give candidates a broad knowledge of the Holistic Approach to health and wellbeing while gaining practitioner qualifications for employment in the most popular therapies - Holistic/Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Indian Head Massage, Aromatherapy or Reflexology, Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling and Nutritional Therapy.

Career Opportunities & Progression Routes

This course will equip successful candidates with skills and qualifications for employment in locations such as Hotels, Leisure Centres, Sports and Fitness Centres, Spa's, Beauty Salons, Cruise Liners, Healing Centres and health farms. Graduates will also be equipped to set up a private practice in Holistic Therapy. There are further education progression routes to third level studies in business and spa management.

Entry Requirements

This course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational and mature students

Examination fees: QQI Level 5 €50 QQI Level 6 €60

Fees charged by professional bodies - These will be outlined under Additional fees for applicable courses. 

Additional costs which may include: Books, Uniforms, /Clothing and Equipment (e.g. Chefs Knives etc.)

Note 1: A non-refundable deposit of €50 to reserve a place on a PLC course.

Note 2: The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution:

  • Full medical Card holders in their own right and their dependent children
  • Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
  • Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA)
