Course Aim

This course is aimed at students with a particular interest in photography. It will cover general photographic theory, thought process in developing concepts for projects and practical training in all aspects of photography and video (DSLR and DRONE), resulting in the assembling of a high quality portfolio. This course would also be of benefit to students who ultimately wish to pursue a career in another area, such as architecture or graphic design, where photographic skills would be a definite asset. Throughout the year students participate in a variety of photographic assignments concluding with an exhibition of their works, which is organised each year.

Career Opportunities & Progression Routes

Two main career options for students attending this course are to gain a place in a third level college such as the University of Ulster and DIT or to obtain employment in the field of photography. Students assemble a photographic portfolio of sufficient quality, variety and quantity to help them achieve a place in a third level college or to introduce themselves to a prospective employer.
